Join Toby for a week of in-depth exploration of the 5 elements of the Dagara tradition which facilitate rapid personal transformation, balance, and empowerment. A rich, vibrant mixture of drumming, ancient African and Native American shamanic practices, and modern science set in one of the most beautiful, nurturing environments on the planet, Kauai, this supercharged week is sure to jumpstart or recharge participants’ personal journey!

Toby’s unique approach is a result of his 20 years of shamanic study and practice. This path allows participants to delve deeper into their selves and their life’s purpose, providing each person with the tools and insights for real empowerment and helping them discover their deeper calling.

TRIP HIGHLIGHTS (Sample Itinerary)

Day 1: After arrival, participants will enjoy a welcome dinner in Ka’paa with traditional Coconut Cream Ambrosia ritual.

Day 2: The day begins by honoring the sacred at Kauai’s Hindu Monastery, a lush 353-acre sanctuary set in what many islanders believe to be the most sacred valley on Kauai. The monastery is a destination for spiritual seekers from around the world who come to experience the temples, gardens, teachings, and sacred land that can only be found in this very special location. An afternoon journey workshop and drumming will allow participants to connect with Hawaiian guides in the energy rich Valley of the Kahuna’s. After dinner, the group will experience an evening of sound and journeying with Toby and Taj Jure at the Anahata Spiritual Spa.

Day 3: Travel to Polihale Beach, a wild untamed beach where the islanders believe the souls depart the planet. Here, participants will call upon the island guides and conduct a release ceremony. Afterwards, journey back in time with a visit to the charming former sugar plantation town of Hanapepe. Participants will enjoy an evening with a guest presentation.

Day 4: Enjoy a free day with optional excursions or explore the island on your own. A beach fire and ritual will take place in the evening.

Day 5: Participants will enjoy a day on one of Kauai’s most beautiful beaches, Secret Beach, snorkelling and swimming with the dolphins, basking in the sun, enjoying a picnic lunch, and reclaiming power and balance. In the evening will be a sunset drum circle.

Day 6: Time to experience the timeless, unparalleled beauty of Hanalei Bay, the perfect place to dive into the energy of water with a ritual and an exploration of reconciliation and healing. Afterwards, participants can hike to hills above this quaint town, stroll through shops and art galleries, or float out on the Bay’s clear blue waters while gazing at the surrounding majestic mountains. In the evening will be a sunset drum circle with guest presentation.

Day 7: Hike to the pristine, healing waters of the Makaleha Falls in the Valley of the Kahuna. The group will experience the magic and power of transformation with the journey on this revered trail that meanders through a bamboo grove with numerous bathing pools along the way. Participants can immerse themselves in the lush tropical beauty and experience the power and healing effects of the falls. The evening will conclude with a departure celebration.

Tune in to the rhythm of life

Join Toby in paradise for this dynamic workshop of a rich, vibrant mixture of drumming, ancient African and Native American shamanic practices, and modern science set in the beautiful and nurturing Kauai environment, where participants will learn the fundamentals of sound healing and earn Level I certification.

In this workshop, Toby will share his experiences of working in sound healing for the past 15 years. By learning how to incorporate different sound instruments into healing regimes, healers can provide immediate and permanent balance and realignment to the chakras and etheric body for both themselves and their clients.

Each participant will:

Learn at least 2 techniques for each of the 5 Element Sound Healing tools: the hoop drum (sacred instrument of the Native American, primarily used in this technique for clearing and enhancing energy), djembe or other hand drum (powerful for transforming energy and eradicating intrusions), rattle or shaker (helps unlock hidden energy and calls spirit Allies), tuning forks (great for realigning chakras and “tuning the luminous body”), and the voice (used to help find personal vibration)
Develop skills in information gathering, shamanic journey methods, and intention setting
Learn a treatment protocol to effectively and systematically apply the techniques acquired
Experience a full sound healing treatment
Receive the Level I 5 Element sound healing certificate verifying completion of this course

Day 4: The morning begins with sound healing training on one of Kauai’s most beautiful beaches, Secret Beach. In the afternoon, participants will snorkel, swim with the dolphins, picnic, bask in the sun, and drum the sun down. A guest presentation will follow in the evening.

Day 5: Participants can enjoy a free day with an optional excursion or enjoy at day at the beach. The evening will offer an optional sunset drum circle.

Day 6: Following a morning of sound healing training, participants will enjoy an afternoon experiencing the timeless, unparalleled beauty of Hanalei Bay, the perfect place to dive into the energy of water with a ritual and an exploration of reconciliation and healing. Afterwards, participants can hike to hills above this quaint town, stroll through shops and art galleries or float out on the Bay’s clear blue waters while gazing at the surrounding majestic mountains. Participants will enjoy a sunset drum circle in the evening.

Day 7: Participants will experience a day of sound healing training in the Valley of the Kahuna, including playing inside a sacred Octagon land. In the afternoon, explore the energy of nature hiking to the pristine waters of Makaleha Falls and experience the magic and power of transformation with a journey on this revered trail that meanders through a bamboo grove with numerous bathing pools along the way. The evening will conclude with a sunset drum circle.

Day 2: The morning begins by honoring the sacred at Kauai’s Hindu Monastery, a lush 353-acre sanctuary set in what many islanders believe to be the most sacred valley on Kauai. The monastery is a destination for spiritual seekers from around the world who come to experience the temples, gardens, teachings and sacred land that can only be found in this very special location. Participant will then spend the afternoon journeying to the Land of Lemuria, a healing journey of the sacred feminine with a beach classroom. Participants will experience an evening of sound healing with Toby and Taj Jure at the Anahata Spiritual Spa.

Day 3: The morning and afternoon will be spent building the wheel of power, as participants learn African and Lakota techniques that will help deepen and strengthen existing connections and create powerful new connections to personal and professional power. The idyllic classroom is set on the sacred land in the Valley of the Kahuna. The day concludes with a sunset drum circle

Day 4: Participants will spend the morning awakening the dormant masculine: for every healer, balanced connection to both masculine and feminine energy is essential to deliver the greatest work. Participants will experience the power of this ancient mountain glade that will help them uncover and ground their connection to the deepest masculine power and gifts. In the afternoon, experience a hike to the Cave of the Honu (sea turtle). Participants will enjoy an evening with ceremony and jungle medicine resident island shaman.

Day 5: Enjoy a free day with optional excursions and self exploration of the island. In the evening, there will be a beach fire, drumming, and ritual.

Day 6: The morning and afternoon will be spent reclaiming our power: who is Wedamame? Experience a new look at soul retrieval. Toby’s extensive work with Michael Harner, Sandra Ingerman, and Andean and African shaman has led him to develop a very unique method of soul retrieval. In this session, participants will learn skills that will build on previous knowledge. The evening concludes with a sunset drum circle and guest presentation.

Day 7: Participants will experience a morning and afternoon weaving the perfect medicine cloth, an opportunity to integrate all the island experiences as we hike to the pristine, healing waters of the Makaleha Falls in the Valley of the Kahuna. Be immersed in the transformative energy of nature with a journey on this revered trail that meanders through a bamboo grove with numerous bathing pools, where participants can experience their new power and celebrate clarity in the healing waters of the falls. The evening concludes with a farewell dinner celebration.

Toby Christensen:

Toby is a recognized expert and innovator in the field of healing music. He combines sound energy with indigenous healing techniques to help clients create health and well-being. Using his djembe drum, Toby first creates a rhythmic force to disrupt unhealthy patterns and then combines elemental rhythms to restore and realign mind, body, and spirit.

With over 20 years of experience, Toby offers his clients a safe and supportive environment that nurtures and sustains their own personal healing journeys, allowing them to realize profound results.

Elisa Logan:

Elisa believes the key to happiness is not outside of us, but exists inside our own hearts. The Native Americans say, “Truth is the arrow.” Our inner truth is the arrow that will guide each of us to live the joyful, abundant lives we yearn for. This work will provide you with the skills to uncover and hear your own truth. Through a unique fusion of indigenous healing arts, spiritual intuitiveness, and body awareness, Elisa creates a transformational experience for each person that supports their individual needs and gives them the tools to live a more balanced, fulfilling life.

A most unlikely candidate for a spiritual path, Elisa spent over 20 years on the East coast honing her skills as a marketing guru enjoying “the good life.” Searching for deeper meaning amongst BMWs and boardrooms, Elisa’s initial exploration in energy work and shamanism began with her own healing journey in which she discovered the incredible transformative power of energy work through alternative medical approaches. These experiences led her away from the corporate world and down the path of studying shamanic wisdom and healing arts of indigenous cultures.

Elisa feels extremely lucky and blessed to have Toby as her mentor and guide. His teachings have opened new doorways for her to deliver powerful permanent change in her own life and in her clients’. Elisa is a certified practitioner of Energy Medicine, having studied with the Four Winds Society. She studied healing arts at the University of Sufism and Spiritual Healing, and has studied with Shaykh Sidi al-Jamal, the Guide of Shadhdhully yah Sufi path founded in the 13th century. Logistics and Lodging

Getting there: Fly into Lihue airport in Kauai. There are direct flights to Lihue from Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Lodging: We have a special rate at the Oceanfront Aston Islander on the Beach in Ka’paa. This resort is on the east coast of Kauai in the Coconut Plantation and is set in six acres of beautifully landscaped gardens with a sparkling pool and a stunning beachfront location.
