Yoga on Kauai — Stepping Into Your Power (July 3 to 9)
Overview: Focus on activating and balancing the 7 main chakras, or energy centers of the body.
Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning ‘wheel’ or ‘revolving disc.’ The chakras serve as transformers and act as regulators to receive, assimilate, and distribute energy to the spinal nerve plexuses. This energy is then transferred to the blood circulation and organs of the physical body.
Objectives: As Kauai has its own heart-opening affect on natives and visitors alike, one of our focuses will be how to activate our own heart chakras using yoga poses, meditation, sounds, and colors to support this goal.
Results: You will learn which yoga poses, or asanas, support, strengthen, and activate your energy centers. You will leave feeling more balanced and open to the challenges in your life!
Program Fee: $1500
Send your $500 nonrefundable deposit by March 1, 2012 with full payment on or before April 1, 2012 to receive your 10% discount!
About Instructor Debbie Pascus
Debbie Pascus, registered yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance of America, was first introduced to the art of yoga 20 years ago while working as an engineer in the Reno/Tahoe area. Yoga was a stress-reliever at the time. Having had many years of ballet training, yoga was a welcome change from the competition of the dance world.
With her interest in holistic and natural healing practices, Debbie decided to move towards a change. After moving to Virginia, she studied massage therapy and worked on becoming a certified yoga teacher. While earning her certification, Debbie also began teaching fellow co-workers and realized this was a path well worth exploring. Debbie studied Hatha style yoga, Kripalau, Phoenix Rising yoga therapy, Ashtanga, Tibetan, and various other styles.
Taking off the “engineering hat,” Debbie opened her own business and has never looked back. Debbie uses her knowledge of anatomy and energy systems (chakras) to enhance the yoga class experience for each student. For over 12 years, she has taught massage therapy/yoga/yoga therapy workshops all over the United States to a variety of audiences, including women’s groups, health care professionals, and people on new career paths.
Teaching yoga on the island of Kauai will be, at the very least, a heart-opening experience and an inner discovery that only can be provided in this beautiful, magical place in Hawaii.
Janet Gibson, Newspaper in Education Manager of the FreeLance-Star says:
I think anyone (teacher or video) can teach the poses, but it takes a special person to exude the feelings of peace and calmness that are the essence of Debbie’s classes. When I miss a class, my body and my soul beg for me to get back to class!
